CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
The goal of the education ministry at Byne Memorial Baptist Church is to encourage and enable people to do the three C’s – The Great Confession (John 3:16), the Great Commandment (Mark 12:28-31) , and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). The Great Confession means accepting Christ. The Great Commandment means to love God with your whole being and also love your neighbor. The Great Commission is to go and share with whole world the need for, and possibility of, receiving salvation through a faith in Jesus Christ.
Byne seeks to accomplish this goal through ongoing open small groups that focus on Bible study that focus on connecting, growing, serving and going. These groups meet on Sunday mornings (called Sunday School) or other days and times in what are called Growth Groups. There are groups for all ages.
Discipleship Training is the focus on learning specific Christian life skills or more information on specific topics. These topics of these groups vary from term to term, and these topics are listed in our publicity pieces. These courses may be held on any day, but they are typically held on Wednesday or Sunday nights. There are groups for all ages.
MISSIONS
The goal of the Missions Ministry is to learn more about mission efforts around the world and support these. The intent is that everyone would become an Acts 1:8 Christian. Church wide mission studies about mission efforts and needs that are local, state, North American and International are taught annually. Missionaries are invited to speak about their efforts. The church contributes to annual offerings to support the work of missionaries in these different areas. Local, state, national and international projects and trips are done each year.
Byne’s mission efforts are led by the Men’s Ministry and Women On Mission groups for adults. These groups are involved in many studies and projects. They are also responsible for teaching our children and students about missions through these age appropriated programs - Mission Friends (ages 3-5 years), Royal Ambassadors (boys grade 1-6), Girl’s Auxiliary (girls grade 1-6), Acteens (teen girls) and Challengers (teen boys). These groups also participate in many hands-on projects.
